Let’s get literal
"I will pour water upon him that is thirsty."
So if I am having a bad day or moment and I decide to get literal and pour water on myself or drink a glass of water in order to pull myself back together and simulate the pouring of Christ in to me, does that make me crazy? I kinda did that the other day. I mentioned it in a previous blog but I want to get deeper because it really had an effect on me and my attitude. Also a movie I watched last night pretty much told me to do the same thing.
In the movie “Facing the Giants”, the coach of a Christian football team relates a biblical event to winning or trying to win a football game. He says as like the farmers with faith some get the field ready as if there is already rain in the forecast, while the others just wait for the rain. So when I was in a bad way and slipped into the kitchen I prayed and walked into the living room with a smile and positive word on my lips, I thought I was forcing it but in essence I was prepared for the change that I prayed for. I had faith that my prayer was heard and already taking affect as I walked into the room.
Now next time this moment of humanness tries to take me over I know I can get literal: I can take a drink, wash my hands while praying and when I am done, have faith, knowing that I already have been washed by the blood and filled with the spirit. My faith is my attitude adjustment.
