"I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do" (John 17:3-4).
God actually called me to this job. Now there is a concept .
Unless you’re a very blessed individual most of us are not 100 % satisfied with our bosses, workload, or pay. I for instance work in a casino. I am one of the good guys I work in surveillance so most of the time I help catch the bad guy and that makes me feel good. Then there are the other times. I am asked to basically spy on people for someone else’s..oh let’s call it their agenda. Then of course there is the fact that I have to watch people lose their money, drink etc all day long. Let’s get real; a casino is not one of God’s top moral developments. But here I am, I gotta earn a living. And if I read the word of God correctly I have to accept that for whatever reason after working here for nine years, it must be part of God’s plan for me.
I actually can see how this particular job gives me advantages as a Christian. I do help catch the bad guy and bring peace and justice, law and order. I am very lucky to be able to stay in contact with my family. I have the freedom to talk to them when they need me. I can actually blog from work and read the word during my down time. Is this why God has me here? I have thought a lot on this subject and in the end I need to let Him lead with question or explanation. Do my best at whatever I am asked to do(within reason). So that at the end I may say with a clear conscience to the King, “Lord, I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do"
